What is the difference between a manufactured home and a modular home?

A manufactured home is built on a metal frame, brought in with its own wheels and axles, set up on piers, has a serial number and is tied down in accordance with Florida Statute 320.8325. A modular home is not constructed on a metal frame. It is set up on a cement slab and bolted to the slab. It is not tied down. If otherwise eligible, modular homes can be written on a homeowners (HO3) form and rated frame construction.
